- Change the colour of metal embellishments with StazOn ink, it saves you having to buy other colours.
- When using a lot of photos make sure you still have plenty of space left on your page for balance.
- For funky embellishments, mat scraps of patterned paper and ink along edges.
- Create a funky background by using quilting and patchwork techniques.
- For an easy alternative to sepia photos, place black and white shots onto a cream background – it had the same effect!
- Use cardstock letters as a stencil to create as many coordinating letters as you like.
- Strips of patterned paper can be used in place of ribbon for embellishing.
- If you make a spelling mistake when journalling, re-write the work on coloured cardstock and use as an embellishment – no-one will ever know!
- Go free-style on your projects – experiment with doodling, different mediums etc and create your own style.
- Create a page where journalling is the main focus, rather than the photo for something different.
- For greater impact, digitally alter the saturation and contrast of your photos.
- To give your layout a ‘fresh’ feel, keep a lot of white as background.

A friend just chatted to me on the phone and shared her scrappin tip. I think its great....She puts all those spare buttons off new clothes in her stash tin and also cuts off the ribbon bits to hang jumpers by as they are perfect length to scrap with. A very simple solution ,must go and collect all my buttons, still in little bags, up from the dresser drawer!! submitted by
