My style reflects the mood I'm in and the photos I'm scrapping. I don't put too much emphasis on a particular style or follow certain standards as I find that too restricting and it can lead to a scrappers block. I'm also inclined not to follow trends and overuse supplies. My favourite layouts are ones that just evolve without too much planning and thought. Each layout is like my little baby and is a tribute to the important things in my life.

The way I plan a page varies, but it can take me days. Planning stages usually begin when I'm drifting off to sleep - this is when most of my ideas begin to churn around in my head. I usually jot them down in my scrapping diary and refer to them next time I scrap. Other ways I plan a page is to start with my photos and rearrange them in different ways until I'm happy with the design - this can go on for a few days, studying the project and pulling out embellishments that I could possibly use.

My scrapbooking is driven by my love of photography. Being able to enhance my photos and recount memories of my family is the central core of my inspiration. I have always loved art and craft. Anything that involves artistic expression engages me instantly and usually leads to addiction. Scrapbooking is a craft that has all my passions rolled into one.

If you've got scrapper's block leave it alone, flick through a mag or just take a new angle. Scrappers block is a frustrating state to be in! Sometimes I just give up, walk away and try again the next day or if I need a quick inspiration fix I flick through home design magazines for colour and pattern combinations. Another way to get the creative juices flowing is to start with an embellishment instead of a photo - it's sometimes the photos that cause the blockage.

Scrap for you and in your own way! Try not to compare yourself to other scrappers and be dispirited because you feel it is not up to a particular standard. Scrapbooking is a very personal craft and each and every layout is a reflection of you and your life - always scrapbook for yourself!
