I LIKE MY PAGES TO MAKE PEOPLE FEEL
I like my pages to tell a story, in the journaling but also in the colours and design.  I like the viewer to sense the feelings I am trying to portray. I don’t like too much clutter on my pages, but love those perfect few embellishments to give that finishing touch to a page.
I don’t want my pages to ever get that dated look.  I scrapbook to record memories and feelings and hope this dominates my pages, rather than the “stuff” on them. My scrapping buddies will always look at one of my pages and say its “So Daphney” Not that I know how to describe that, but basically I know what I like and tend to stick to that.

I NEED A ‘SPARK’ TO GET STARTED
I choose my photos first and then just start to scrap.  To get going I really need one thing to give me a ‘spark’.  This might be a new product I want to use, an idea I’ve seen in a magazine, a colour combination I want to try out, a technique I want to try or a quote or particular journaling I want to use.  I seem to need that one thing to start me off and then everything else comes from that one thing.

EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN
From its onset, Blue Cardigan’s motto has been “Everything old is new again.”  We try to incorporate things from the past to create our products.  Often our designs have a heritage feel to them, but not necessarily.  But you will always find some influence from times gone by, even if interpreted in a modern way. We love to find old images in books, old products and such.  These seem to be the spark for our products.

OUR DESIGNS HAVE MEANING
Our products themselves have a story.  We have used many old images from items owned by our grandmother and also ancestors in our family on our products.  We like to create a connection with the past in our products. Just like people are creating those sort of connections in their scrapbooking all the time.

MY VICE IS PATTERNED PAPERS
I just adore them.  You can create entire layouts with just paper – it’s so versatile.  I love the wonderful array of colours and patterns that are available and I love mixing lots of patterns on the one page.

FIND YOUR OWN STYLE
Don’t get caught up in the styles that seem to come and go in scrapbooking, Find what you enjoy, what you are happy with and stick to it.  Don’t compare yourself and second-guess yourself.  Be happy with your creations and enjoy the process!!
