I love giving my pages dimension with layers

In five words I would best define my style as layered, collaged, colourful, florally and exciting. I feel I scrapbook the way I do because I love designing using lots of layers, coordinating my colours and flowers are just the perfect finishing touch.

My pages usually stem from a paper design

When I plan a page I usually have a type of paper in mind so if the photos aren't the right colour I will usually change them to a sepia or black & white so they will suit the paper. Then I would find any cardstock, embellishments, paints etc that co-ordinate with the tonings or design of the paper. I then usually ponder on the basis of my design for a while and make up the finer details as I go along.

What drives and inspires my projects?

I get my inspiration from patterns, textures, toning, and also from the gorgeous scrapbooking products that are available. Also my photos and my wonderful son Dylan.

I am always striving to achieve different techniques.

I think the one thing that distinguishes my approach to scrapbooking is my passion for design. I love to use chipboard letters, flowers and any other sorts I can get my hands on as they make the perfect embellishment. I love to paint them colours to coordinate with my pages and then apply glossy accents.

A final tip from Natalie…

If you apply glossy accents to your painted chipboards it gives them a high glossy appearance and they look fantastic.
