Simple and happy describes my work

I like to use bright colors that are fun and happy and my style is pretty simple and clean. Usually I can put about 4-5 elements on a page and to me it looks complete.

Neutral paper is a good background

I usually plan a page by starting with my photos. I choose a neutral background such as Kraft, black or white cardstock because I know that my paper and pictures will pop off of that. Then I choose 4 elements: this can be 4 different papers, or a few papers and an embellishment. I feel that this process eliminates me thinking about every product I have that I want to use. It keeps things simple and allows me to focus on just a few items.

Play around with new techniques

What drives my projects are my photos, or a technique that I have been thinking about trying. Sometimes I just play and find something I love that I know I will want to use again.

I love Chipboard Coverz.

They are so versatile! I can use them for mini books (as the covers) or use them to mount a photo, or cut them up in to shapes to make my own custom chipboard embellishments. I also like to make photo coasters with them, it’s a great gift for people, just be sure to cover the photo with Mod Podge before using!

Don’t just use brand new things!

I try to include something older in my stash with every layout so that I can make room for more new stuff!
