Define your style in five words and explain how this style came about or why you feel you scrap the way you do?

  • Schizophrenic
  • Clean
  • Simple
  • Obsessive
  • Evolving

How did this come about?

Schizophrenic and evolving seem strange words to choose to describe my style I feel this way because my style is continually changing.  I am fairly new to scrapbooking having only started 2 years ago and I’m still having lots of fun experimenting and playing, I am not sure I am a one style person

I am a fairly unfussy, simple person, so it’s only going to follow that my work is going to be this way.  I am also a complete obsessive “neat freak” and hate messy work

How do you plan a page?

Far too much, it can take me a week to do one layout.   Recently, I have been “product driven”  With so many new products to create projects for our web the pressure is on to find just the right photo to fit the product.

When I am scrapping for my “out of work” life I am photo and colour driven.  I often spend weeks looking for just the right shade of paper.

I never stick anything down until the whole page has been created

What drives and inspires your projects?

Again my work scrapping is different to my home scrapping.  When scrapping for home the desire to create the right sentiments in my journaling drives me.  I scrap for my girls I want them to really feel the memories we create together.

For Scrapapple I want to create variety and simplicity.  Each project I create is designed to showcase a product or technique.  Especially when we do so much off the page work – we want to give as much variety and inspiration as possible

What do you think is the one thing that distinguishes your unique approach to the craft?

The desire to be different... Why would we want to be the same as everybody else?

What is your favourite product and your favourite way to use it?

At the moment t is fabric, there are so many different ways to use it; tied, stitched, torn, layered the possibilities are endless.  At the moment I am spending sad amounts of time stitching on it

Do you have any special tips or tricks that you would like to share?

To create embellishments stick two layers of fabric together (I use vliesofix) and then cut out shapes by hand.  OR put it through a cutting system such as Sizzix.
