- What does it mean for you to be a part of the scrapbooking industry?
I love to create, to be challenged, to learn new things, to meet people and feel part of a community, and I love being on the cutting edge of technology. My role in the scrapbooking industry allows me to do this, all while being able to stay home and be there with my kids. A few months ago someone asked me what my dream job is, I thought about it for a little while, and replied 'You know what...I think I am doing it!'.
- What is your role at Pickleberrypop?
I am a very hands-on site owner, so I do everything from advertising, to organising events, sending out our weekly catalogue of new products, managing the teams, payroll, you name it, I probably do it!
- Do you scrapbook? Tell us a little about your style and how you came to scrap this way.
I do scrapbook, but not nearly as much these days as I used to, as I am just so busy with my two kids and running the site. I am not sure I have a style?! I love to try lots of different styles, and can honestly say that I don't have a favourite! I started out back in 2005 scraplifting other people's pages, to learn, and now I really just create what I feel like.
- Where do you find the greatest inspiration for your pages comes from?
Right now, I am probably a bit disorganised in terms of keeping up with my photos and scrapping, so I am probably more likely to be inspired by a great looking kit than my wanting to scrap about a particular event or photo. But in terms of subject, my kids are definitely my greatest inspiration!
- What do you think is the one thing that distinguishes your products in this industry?
Well, to begin with...they are all digital scrapbooking products! We have a great team of designers who consistently amaze me at the type and quality of products that they come up with, and because the products are digital, we have new releases every week, sometimes even every day! Not only this, but usually, as soon as payment is made, you can download your products and start scrapping...within minutes!
- What is your all time favorite thing about digital scrapbooking?
Can I mention two? I LOVE the fact that I can 'undo' my changes when creating a page, with no waste! And the other would have to be re-use. I love that I can buy a kit and use the same things in it once, twice, or one hundred times if I want to, which is also very environment-friendly!
- Do you have any special tips or tricks that you would like to share?
I would probably just say to keep an open mind and try new things...all the time. |
