1. Choose two contrasting colours from your layout to use.
2. Dark colours over light is easier for beginners
3. The thinner the application of the top coat, the finer the cracks; the thicker the application, the wider and deeper the cracks.
4. Sponging creates spider web cracks, brushing creates straighter cracks
5. Altering the medium coat after application will cause the cracks to not form. When the top coat meets the cracking medium, the cracking medium becomes a liquid again, and starts doing it's thing - brushing over that just mixes the paint and the liquid together. Put it on and leave it alone!
6. Excessive humidity may affect the cracking medium.
7. Cracking medium is not acid free, but if you keep it away from your pics, you should be fine.
