This is an easy method of filling text ( or any shape ) with an image.
Type your text into your layout.
This method works best with a large bold font such as Impact .
Drag or copy and paste your image( photo or background paper) into your layout.
Make sure your image layer is above the text layer in the layers palette.
Cntrl-Click on the thumbnail of the text layer in the layers palette to select it.
You will see the “marching ants” around the text.
Hold the Alt Key down and place your cursor on the layers palette between the image layer and the text layer . A small icon will appear to indicate you are creating a clipping mask
When you click with your mouse the text now is filled with the image below.
You can move and resize the image layer within the text layer as desired.
You are not limited to filling text layers. Any shape you can select can be filled using the same method.
