I have a new-found favourite – chalkboard paint! Besides the
mess one makes when using chalkboard paint[can’t complain
about the fun generated from mess], it ‘s a great way to
personalise your cards & beyond the page projects. I have
outlined briefly how to use chalkboard paint and also provided
some idea’s for you to try. Enjoy.
I am using the following RASBERRY products for these projects:
- Rasberry Chipboard Shapes [we are using Loveheart & Daisy]
- Rasberry Mini-books [we are using Daisy]
- Patterned papers from the Petite Rasberry collection
- Patterned papers from the Rasberry Soda collection
- Rasberry Rub Ons transfers
- Other items you will need:
- Chalkboard Paint [you can purchase a small tin from a hardware store like
Bunnings]
- Blank Cards
- Ribbons, Buttons and Paper Flowers [any other preferred embellishments to
“dress up” your projects]
- Chalk
- Tools: cutting knife, cutting mat, adhesives
- Painting Tools: paintbrush, stirrer, gloves
Method:
Step 1: Painting [with Chalkboard Paint]
- Chalkboard paint is messy so please ensure that you place something on top of
your workspace
- Chalkboard paint gets all over your hands during painting so I suggest wearing
disposable gloves
- Open up the tin of paint and stir until the paint has softened [you may need to stir
the paint at intervals as it hardens quickly]
- Paint the chipboard shapes and mini-book. Due to the thickness of the paint, for
the smaller shapes you will only need one coat of paint.
- You will need to paint 1 page from the daisy mini book, 1- 4x4” daisy chipboard
shape and 2 – 2x2” love heart chipboard shapes from the Rasberry chipboard
range.
- Leave to dry…
Step 2: Our Cards Project

I made three cards using different papers &
embellishments
- Cover each blank card with paper:
• Cover the first card with red/white polka dot
paper from the Rasberry Petite collection
• Cover the 2nd card with red tulip paper from the
Rasberry Petite collection
• Cover the 3rd card with red vines paper from
Rasberry Soda collection.
- Cover chipboard shapes with paper & embellish:
• Cover the 4x4” daisy chipboard shape with pink
checked paper from the Rasberry Petite
collection.
• Embellish this daisy shape with “vine” rub ons –
Rasberry Petite Rub Ons sheet.
• Cover the 4x4” loveheart chipboard shape with
red/white polka dot paper.
• Distress the edges lightly using a distressing
board [or a paper nail file]
- Assemble the Polka Dot Card:
• Place the daisy chipboard that you covered with pink checked paper and rub
ons towards the middle left hand side of the card and adhere.
• Place the “chalkboard” love heart chipboard shape towards the bottom right
hand side of the daisy shape and adhere using double sided tape.
• Use chalk to write a message
- Assemble the Tulip Card:
• Place the loveheart chipboard that you covered with polka dot paper towards
the middle left hand side of the card and adhere.
• Place the “chalkboard” love heart chipboard shape towards the bottom right
hand side of the daisy shape and adhere using double sided tape.
• Use chalk to write a message
• Embellish with buttons or ribbon as desired
- Assemble the Vines Card:
• Place rub ons from the Paisley rub on sheet on petals of the “chalkboard” daisy
shape.
• Place the “chalkboard” daisy chipboard shape towards the middle right hand
side of the card adhere using double sided tape.
• Use chalk to write a message
• Embellish with buttons or ribbon as desired
Step 3: Our Wall Decorations Project

You will need to separate the Daisy Chipboard Mini
Book by un-hooking the hinged ring.
- You will need the Chalkboard daisy shape painted
earlier
- I have only used 3 of the 5 pages but you may do more
if you would like to.
- Page 1: Painted shape
• Ensure this shape is dry
• Tie ribbon through the hole – if you wish you can cover this with a button or
monogrammed chipboard
• Write on the shape with chalk –
• If these wall decorations are in a children’s room - you can place this shape in a
position that can be reached.
- Page 2: Polka Dot
• Cover this 8x8” shape with red/white polka dot paper from the Rasberry Petite
Collection
• Attach embellishments towards the top right hand side – I have chosen
embellish my shape using paper flowers, buttons and ribbon.
- Page 3: Monogram on Tulip Paper
• As I am placing this in my daughter bedroom, I have covered an E [her name is
Emily] with the red/white polka dot paper.
• I have placed a black vine rub on from the Petite Rub Ons sheet down the
length of the E
• Embellish the letter using buttons and flowers
• Cover the shape using tulip paper from the Rasberry Petite Collection
• Rub on a black tulip from the Tulip Rub On sheet
• Attach the letter to your covered shape.
TIPS & MORE IDEAS:
- Whilst you are waiting for your chalkboard shapes to dry you
can start on some projects
- Wall Stick-ons are a fun way to decorate a room. And
Chalkboard Wall decorations are a popular feature and one
that is easily made – You can make your own wall decorations
using chipboard mini-books
